bread and butter...

Finally now having 5 classes, after being assign in to the wrong class of decision making instead of marketing decision making. All the classes consider started, while lecturers trying to prevent over lapping 3 different subjects, strategic marketing, marketing decision making and integrated marketing communication; if all 3 subjects are about the same why not just create 1 called integrated strategic marketing communication and decision making, won't that be easier.

Life in apiit was never this shitty until apiit decides to draw hundreds more student for profit, as you might already guess, drop in quality, gain in quantity. Foreign student are consider the most profiting group among all the student, and those who are bad in English as second language are their cash cow, don't blame yourself if you never grad from the apiit english learning class. Foreign student are profit because;

A, you need to register student visa through the school itself, apiit only give you 3-6 months and charge you rm99 (should be) per renewal while outside you may get 1 - 3 years renewal for free of charge as your fee already cover those charges.

B, you need to get apiit accommodation for the first year when you reach malaysia, of course you can get other alternatives, IF you manage to find one, which most doesn't, apiit charge about rm 300-500 for their accommodation, about rm 100 - 200 above market price, (the one i'm currently living is at rm 180), oh yes, utilities fee are not included in the bill. If you so lucky to get one that is not under apiit (correct, you save about 100 to 200) great now you need to go to school either is by public transport or you buy a car.

C, public transport is easily available if you spend either time or money, bus came every 1 hour, and sometimes might speed away if they can't stop at the bus stop, rapidkl dominates the market around apiit, if you are so unlucky, wait for another hour. Cab charges at rm3 -4 to go to apiit, of course its actually rm 2.50 -4 depends on location and traffic condition. cab usually DOES NOT run on meter if you are get one in apiit. finally, something better which is the apiit bus that goes to the places like the lrt station and apiit accommodation places, it cost about rm 60 a month (i never ride it), it runs on time, but never expect it to stop in apiit itself unless it rains.

D, after paying the basic need, to eat in apiit, price varies from the eye of the cashier, it cost about rm 2 to 20 PER meal (might be more if you decide to add in additional toss salad, a piece of chicken, cup of tea and a slice of cake), don't be scare there is still hope, apiit chicken rice cost about rm 3.50 - 4.00 each plate, with a bowl of rice and few pieces of chicken that cover the top of your rice and a few slice of cucumber and drops of sauce. Eating in apiit is not really what you would want everyday. Going out to eat might be costly, so you can just eat some where around apiit, a nasi lemak stall in enterprise 3, cafe in patimas, MC'd around petronas, cafeteria at enterprise 4 and one more shop right opposite of maybank.Choices is that you really have a lot to choose from, prices at the other hand is that you will spend around rm5 per meal.

E, again if you so unlucky to fall under this group of cash cow, be happy cause you know that you are rich enough to be in the group (sadly you suck in life and i would strongly suggest you to transfer). ESL students are usually stuck in the english study area for 6 -12 months, 3 if you are good enough, and lets for get the maximum unless you ran out of cash. Most of the china student ended up here with others from east asia and north asia, fairly because you can't pretty much understand what people is talking and you can't express yourself other than body language. Basically you are screwed because medium in apiit is english. A class for ESL cost about 1k (i was told as 1K), it is cheaper than what you can get outside, again lets talk quantity.

In the context of money, not everything is bad, or at least. Your tuition fee is fixed for that intake and it will never increase (or decrease) with the on going money depreciation and inflation, given USD or MYR, there won't be a word called cheap if you are going to study at a foreign place. So dear friends, think twice before coming to the hell hole, because down is where the admins are.

Oh shit, think of it I was thinking to get another degree oversea.

there goes 1 year..

finally.. its a long long long time that i have touched blogger..its 1:36 now, having a class tomorrow at 10:00, time does fly, and i have succefully complete 2 semester and now waiting for the exam for my final semester in year 1.

check today with the student admin lady, and found that my overall attendence in class was at average, that means im qualify for exam while having at just above the getting bar level, phew.. my calculation was correct, students is able to apply for personal holidays for 6 days with no reasoning while held up to 80% attendence in school.

After about one year in apiit, here is some conclusion;

1. the canteen food sux!, SUX! THE CANTEEN FOOD SUX!!!
in apiit, we serve mix dishes of mix dishes; oh you havent heard of them, its easy, get two dishes that have about the same texture, mix them and you have a mix dishes (A1+B1=AB1), now mix the already mix dish in with another mixed dish and you have the mix dishes of mix dishes (AB1+ CD1=AD2).
Cant understand that huh,
A1 = Fried Japanese Egg Toufu
B1 = Fried Young Tou Fu in Sweet and sour sauce

By mixing both A1 and B1, you will get AB1, Fried Japanese Egg Toufu and Fried Young Tou Fu in Sweet and sour sauce

C1 = Braise Long Beans
D1 = Left over salad, cucumbers, tomatoes and onions with little bits of cabbage that has mix with some mayonnaise

By mixing both C1 and D1, you will get CD1, Left over salad, cucumbers, tomatoes with braise long beans and onions with little bits of cabbage that has mix with some mayonnaise

Now having both AB1 and CD1, you will be getting, ABCD2, Fried Japanese Egg Toufu and Fried Young Tou Fu in Sweet and sour sauce with Left over salad, cucumbers, tomatoes with braise long beans and onions with little bits of cabbage that has mix with some mayonnaise.

P.s. Don’t worry about nobody eating it, Its in apiit, we have no choice but..urgh.. ok I rather starve myself that day…

2. There is no empty labs in apiit when you need it.
If there is any case that you need to use a lab and there is non available as the lecturer has book it, well boy, be a good chap, go in and ask for permission, most lecturer prefer that you just turn away as you will be most likely disturb their class. Computer labs in apiit are mostly packed from 9AM till 2PM, but there is actually some improvement, there is more available labs now if its to compare to my 2nd semester. Take about a lecturer may just move in and say, Attention please, I’m having a lecture in this lab, and all those that does not belongs to this class please move to the other labs. So, here is a suggestion to fix that, I was told by Ms. Suan; book that computer that you are using and when the bitch came in, told her that you have book it, and the file that you are doing has a big file size (more than 50MB) and you cannot save it in Z drive, and you does not have a pendrive. Most likely she will just leave you there, else she ask you to get a pendrive to save ur data and leave, borrow the lecturer pendrive, take it home. And here you got a new pendrive
3. Pendrive easily get lost in apiit.
This is my 2nd time that I lost my pendrive, heck, I lost two 2GB pendrive, one in 2nd sem, one in the 3rd. Wait, im not the unlucky one here, in apiit, anything that has connection with IT are easily lost if you are not careful, hey, have you hear the news that monitor was stolen after they were hook up to the new pc in the lab. Well, in apiit most of the student are poor, (see the accommodation in nearby apiit is RM 240-350 for a single room and HECK! A plate of salad cost RM7.00!!!) so in order to survive, there is some thieving occur, so don’t feel sad when you get your stuffs lost, cheer up, and get a new one. The sad part of getting your devices lost is the data, if you are so unlucky that you have not backup copy of assignment and you lost your pendrive, well, good luck in finishing the assignment before 7 (hey, there is printing and binding delay as well)

4. Not so happening in apiit
Life in apiit, is unlike other universities, students in apiit are not tied to any recreational activities which therefore leads to not so active, but very productive students (we started of assignment late, but we still hand it on time). In apiit, there is a lot of SIG (special interest group) around, but 50% are asleep ( one or few events in school) and 30% unnamed (they sprung out suddenly and dies of quickly) lastly with 20% dead (dead as in unactive but still have a say).

The major activities in apiit is organized by the SARC, which I have participate and not involved in any activities yet due to my attached in other activities (GOMC, MiX08). But soon, I will have more freedom and hahahaha.. see how well does the SARC works, more to come on this…

Well, although that it seems that apiit have not so much activities, yet there are still students that have interest in making events to change the culture, so I see hope in there for a change.
