The chipmunks are not the only trios that can sing, and here you go chipettes. Alvin and the chipmunks 2 is the next story after Dave revealed the chipmunks talents, and having Ian living living by a dumpster until the chipettes arrive in FedEx.
The storyline of chipmunks 2 is fairly simple to understand with the introduction of couple more new characters to put the story up to a romantic tune (other than Dave and Ian). The story does follow the cartoon to an extend, and ends it with a happy ever after scene (well not for Ian again).Chipmunks 2 seems to be an ending of the chipmunks movie series unless Fox tends to spoil it to introduce many more chipmunks.
